When I was younger, I remember that every elementary school had at least one piano, surely for music class and regularly used for assemblies. Back then it was also common for many homes to have a piano. Today, they are far less common, replaced by Netflix and smart phones for entertainment within the home. As such, especially with the cost and awkwardness in moving them, many of the old pianos become forgotten and left behind. It is not uncommon to come across one of these magnificent instruments, left abandoned, having played their last note and succumbing to decay.
I have found pianos like this the world over and they always catch my eye and capture my soul, when I let my mind wander of the hands they've seen.
