I have been a fan of Pink Floyd since first hearing their unique sound in the early 1970s. A band of such renown as the Floyd didn't come to smalltown Calgary where I was from so I never had a chance to see them in their original lineup, however I saw the last edition of the Floyd in 1994 on the Division Bell Tour. The band was excellent of course, however missing it's chief lyricist and the man behind their most epic songs: Roger Waters.
There is no other musician quite like Roger Waters. His music is timeless, epic and his lyrics are always biting and visual. Seeing him in concert is a massive theatrical production that stimulates the senses like no other performer. For him, it is all about the immersion into the experience rather than the shredding of guitars or thundering of drums.
