Six Flags New Orleans was a theme park located in East New Orleans. It first opened as Jazzland in 2000, however the venture proved unprofitable and the owner filed for bankruptcy in 2002.
Six Flags purchased the park and invested $20 million in upgrades, before reopening in 2003. Hurricane Katrina would wind up devestating the park in 2005 and forced the Operator to declare the property a total loss.
The Park would lay abandoned for almost 20 years before demolition finally began in late 2024. These photographs capture the last days of the doomed property before it was wiped from history..
