The Sands of Time

Kolmanskuppe, Namibia

Abandoned since 1956, the town of Kolmanskuppe (Kolmanskop) in the heart of the Namib desert in South West Africa, is slowly being reclaimed by Nature.
Metaphorically, to me, the sand represents time and this image evokes our past, the sand being our memories as it constantly shifts and grows, filling the rooms of our psyche and shaping who we are

Archival Lustre Photographic Paper

The photographic papers we use are Kodak Endura and Fuji Crystal Archive substrates. Both of these papers are archival in nature. Your artwork will be shipped as a print only allowing you the flexibility to have it framed as you desire.

Please note that the maximum paper print size we can produce is 60". If you need larger artwork and/or wish for a ready to hang piece, please consider the Fine Art Canvas or Dye Infused Aluminum options below

Fine Art Canvas - Wrapped

Fine Art Canvas - Wrapped

This process prints the image directly on to a tight weave, fine art brightwhite canvas to hold the detail of my high resolution images. Once printed, the surface is given a matte-UV laminant to help resist fading and for added protection. The canvas is then stretched over a reinforced wooden frame which helps prevent torsion. The finished piece has a painterly-look with the texture of the canvas surface showing through

Our fine art canvas pieces use a 1.5" thick bar. For extra large pieces with a dimension over 40 inches, we use our museum mount stretcher bar which is 2.5" thick. This provides a bolder appearance on the wall and is ideal for grand pieces

The artwork comes ready to hang with an anti-twist support system that is easy to install.

If you are located outside of the USA, please contact us first for pieces larger than 40" on the shortest dimension, or larger than 60" on the longest dimension to see if shipping is available and for a quote on that freight cost.

Dye Infused - RAW (Matte) Aluminum

Dye Infused - RAW (Matte) Aluminum

The gold standard for high end gallery-worthy presentation is dye-infused aluminum. These images have unparalleled vibrance, detail, and luminescence forged by a unique process where the image is separated into dye pigments and 'baked' directly into a sheet of aluminum using intense heat and pressure. The result is a high definition type of appearance with colour saturation like no other. The ultra-hard surface is scratch-resistant, waterproof and can be cleaned easily with any commercial glass cleaner.

For the RAW (Matte) option, we use a 100% recycled, brilliant white surface to reproduce every detail and achieve the maximum wow factor all while at the same time being as green as possible. Unlike our highly polished option which can be highly reflective, the RAW finish offers a matte finish which is ideal for seeing the great detail and texture captured in my high resolution images all without the reflection.

To finish the piece, the aluminum sheet is then flush mounted to an aluminum frame (usually black, although we also use silver for certain images) and delivered display-ready with hanging hardware attached. The flush mount frame we feel is essential to safely mount, and support all edges of the Aluminum sheet.

If you are located outside of the USA, please contact us first for pieces larger than 40" on the shortest dimension, or larger than 60" on the longest dimension to see if shipping is available and for a quote on that freight cost.

Dye Infused - Highly Polished Aluminum

Dye Infused - Highly Polished Aluminum

The gold standard for high end gallery-worthy presentation is dye-infused aluminum. These images have unparalleled vibrance, detail, and luminescence forged by a unique process where the image is separated into dye pigments and 'baked' directly into a sheet of aluminum using intense heat and pressure. The result is a high definition type of appearance with colour saturation like no other. The ultra-hard surface is scratch-resistant, waterproof and can be cleaned easily with any commercial glass cleaner.

For the Highly Polished option, we use a 100% recycled, brilliant white surface to reproduce every detail and achieve the maximum wow factor all while at the same time being as green as possible. The polished version is similar to a Plasma television screen with high contrast and deep rich blacks.

To finish the piece, the aluminum sheet is then flush mounted to an aluminum frame (usually black, although we also use silver for certain images) and delivered display-ready with hanging hardware attached. The flush mount frame we feel is essential to safely mount, and support all edges of the Aluminum sheet.

One thing to note with the highly polished versions is that they can be highly reflective of the light that is in the room. If your piece will be facing or kitty corner to a window and you will be in that room during the day, you may find the light entering the window may be visible in the artwork. If this is the case, you may wish to consider the RAW (Matte) option.
